ABOUT US

This section is founded as a place of gathering the experts interested in urgent surgical management: those who are willing, having energy and knowledge in promoting trauma system on national level.
The goal is the research of ways and proceedings in urgent trauma management. It includes prehospital management as well. Main target is monitoring, measuring and quality management of trauma system on the hospital, regional and national level.

One of the steps in quality improvement is measuring the present situation. The only way is establishing the national trauma registry.

Review of former activities:
On Croatian Trauma Society Annual meeting June 14 2002. in Zadar, the work group was agreed /lovrić- Korać/ to propose the scoring system.
Pilot project "Introducing of Croatian trauma registry" was authorized on June 3. 2005. by Minister of Health. The activities were reported on National trauma congress and Annual meetings, as well to the Ministery of Health (2006. i 2007.).
Further, on Croatian Trauma Society Annual meeting in September 2005. in Osijek in was decided that all hospitals in Croatia dealing with trauma should participate in trauma registry.
On the Croatian trauma Congress in October 2005. in Zagreb Croatian Trauma Registry was presented in lieu of including 14 hospitals.
Department for traumatology University Hospital Dubrava together with Department for Sceletal Surgery University Hospital Zagreb - Rebro organized two times postgraduate course: "Polytrauma – injury severity evaluation through use of scoring"; first  8. – 9. November 2002., second 6. – 7. May 2005.

On the Croatian Trauma Society Main board meeting (April 24. 2008.) it was decided that Workgroup for polytrauma monitoring is founded.
The leader of this group is Prof. dr. sc. Zvonimir Lovrić from UH Dubrava with obligation to form the group of one trauma surgeon from each teaching and regional  hospitals.

The actual mission is finding the way of financing the production of trauma registry software.
